HOW OUR OLIVE OIL IS PRODUCED

LIOMILOS, a pure olive oil with a high nutritional value, is produced using the cold press method.

The process of extracting the oil from the olives begins with us taking the olives off the transport and placing them into the press’s hopper. Then, with the help of an lifting machine, the olives are put in a machine with an absorption mechanism which removes the leaves and other light foreign bodies.

Then the olives are washed in a specially designed machine before going on to the next stage, breaking (crushing). We transfer the washed olives to the crusher, where the olives are crushed and a paste is created. This paste is then transferred to the softeners, where it is slowly stirred.

Malaxation is a basic stage in oil making. It takes around 30 minutes of stirring the paste at low temperatures. After this stage is finished, the olive paste is ready to be separated into oil and other products. During this stage the paste is transferred to the centrifugal machine, where the juice is separated out.

After that comes the final stage: the mixture of juices and oil passes through another separator where, with the help of centrifugal force, it is further separated, and LIOMILOS olive oil is produced. We are extremely proud of our olive oil which is rich in nutrients.

The final product produced by our oil press can be distributed at the time it is produced, or it can remain in the warehouses at our facilities and be stored for as long as our customers wish.

It is stored in a specially designed area in stainless steel tanks which are suitable for maintaining the excellent quality of LIOMILOS olive oil.

Our customers – both wholesale and retail – can pick up the olive oil from our facilities if it suits them or, alternatively, we can transport it to them wherever they are in Mesolonghi or the surrounding area using our company vehicles!
